The festival continues...

Grandma & Pops made it!
Grandma and Pops have now arrived at the “Hoff Month of Guests Festival” and what a better way to celebrate than to take them to another local.  So today we all hopped on the train and were surrounded by women wearing dirndls and men in lederhosen as we made our way to what is considered to be the second largest beer festival in the world after the Munich Oktoberfest.
The Cannstatter Volksfest originated in 1818 and is an annual three-week festival right here in Stuttgart, Germany.  Granted the “Hoff festival” doesn’t have fancy roller coasters, or the background music of a thousand people singing in on of the many large beer gartens, but it was also festive when we returned home sitting on the back porch telling funny stories. (I am thankful none of them starting singing beer songs on our back porch since the dog can howl loud and the neighbors now know us).  But isn’t that really what all festivals aim for in the long run; people laughing and just enjoying being together?  I think this crowd enjoyed both types today!
Crepes are our favorite at German fests!

What jet-lag????

Too much fun for some...nap is a must

Schwein Museum for a quite dinner
